Abstract

The results of the provincial general elections that were held in Québec on April 7, 2014 were unexpected. Among the members elected to the National Assembly the Liberal Party of Québec won the majority while the then ruling party, the Parti Québécois, traditionally in favor of sovereignty, suffered severe losses. Consequently, the idea of Québec''s independence remains unaccomplished.
