Abstract
As a structural-semantic analysis based on the subject-object relations shows, the constructions defined in Russian as "antipassive", represent agentive, active, compressive models oriented to the rematization of the subject component of the utterance and presenting one of the numerous instances of the 'least effort' rule. In Spanish, they are represented as a kind of personal medial-causal formations. As for the ergative languages, where the opposition active/passive, which characterizes the highly developed voice system of nominative languages, is yet absent, the concept of "antipassive" is, in fact, anachronical and optional.
