A review of the monograph by D.A. Pashentsev, M.V. Zaloilo, and A.A. Dorskaya "Change of technological structures and legal development of Russia" is given. Reviewed work is actually the first in which an attempt was made to analyze the legal dynamics from the standpoint of the theory of technological structures. The change of technological structures is considered in the work sequentially, in chronological order, which allowed us to identify some patterns and justify the features of legal development that appear at certain historical stages. Based on the results of the research, the authors of the monograph conclude that the use of the theory of technological structures determines the feasibility of striving for the advanced development of new technologies, and not trying to catch up with other countries in the development of technologies of the outgoing structures. Stimulating the development of new technologies requires the adoption of appropriate legal norms within the framework of advanced legal regulation. This implies the need for priority development of education and science, without which the large-scale introduction of new technologies becomes impossible
