Abstract
in the article author considers features of child's family legal status, which found refl ection in the Fourth Book of German Civil Code (Burgerliches Gezetzbuch, BGB). It is devoted to the relationship, i.e. minor's origin, his legal relationship with parents, parental care, responsibility of parents (persons replacing them) for inadequate protection of children's rights in family. Analysis of the notion "favor of the child" occupies an outstanding place in the article.
