Abstract
In this article is severely criticized tendency of presentation in dissertation council researches which are formally pretending to award a degree in two scientific specialities at the same time: branch-wise speciality and common speciality "12.00.01". Indicates that defense of thesis in two (and more) scientific specialities can take place on branch-wise level only. The article examines the use of modern Russian legal science concepts of science subject and object of science to the general characteristics of dissertations. Provides recommendations of candidate for a degree for the correct use of these concepts in the descriptions of dissertations.
