Abstract
Russian Federation and the Republic of Azerbaijan are the active participants of the international relations, both at regional level and in a considerably wider world context. There is there interaction in range of international and regional organizations, the role and significance of Russian-Azerbaijani relations in the resolving of international and local conflicts, in strengthening the peace and stability in the region. Analysis of the prospects of development of Russia and Azerbaijan should be closely linked to the various aspects of the using the resources of the Caspian Sea. Azerbaijan, Russia, like other coastal States is very interested in the Caspian Sea to be the sea of friendship, good-neighborliness, without which it is impossible seriously talk about sustained development of the national economies and the future well-being of the peoples of the States bordering the Caspian Sea.
