Abstract
Nowadays collective rights of ethnic communities are of great importance. These rights make it possible for ethnic communities to remain as specifi c ethno cultural societies and make more effective ethno social relations state regulation. Legislation of Russia gives the right to originality to aboriginal nations and minorities, but not to all types of ethnic communities, besides it has no right to national identity at all. Proceed from the essence of national identity and on the base of international law rules the author proposes her own wording of right to national identity and gives arguments to necessity of its approval.
