- Abstract
- The article analyzes functions of the public service announcements (PSA) that serve interestsof the different society sectors. There are identifi ed and analyzed concepts of PSA, political andgovernmental advertising: their meaning and value, presented in theoretical approaches and in Russianpractice. The research lead to a new classifi cation of public service advertising functions dependingon the goals of the customer. The scientifi c debate proves that the Russian PSAs have politicalfunctions and the necessity of improving legislation and public regulation of social and politicaladvertising.
