Abstract
The authors continue the analysis of one of the most advanced groups of the Russian business community as both the real and the potential subjects of economic modernization. In the center of an article is one of the major characteristics of successful economic actors – the level and structure of their potential innovative activity (PID), the similarities and differences between them, as well as the main factors of development and implementation of the PID problem in modern Russian institutional environment. The ideas of business with different innovative potential in relevance to the specifi c areas of modernization of the economy and society, the key factors of this process, as well as the terms of its potential actors are analized.
