- Abstract
The Kurtak geoarcheological region is situated in the South of Middle Siberia, in the North Minusinsk basin. It is a unique complex of archeological sites. In the course of 20 years of comprehensive investigations, over 20 locations and sites were discovered, ranging in age from Early to Late Paleolithic. The earliest (Razlog, Kamennyi Log) are at least 250000 years old. The unique geological structure allowed to create a stratigraphical reference scheme for the Quaternary period and to reconstruct the environment in the Pleistocene.
