Abstract

The article deals with the influence of the ideological heritage of the Austrian SocialDemocrats of the interwar period in the Balkans. In the 1920s and 1930s, theorists of the Austomarxism, especially Otto Bauer, suggested a number of innovative interpretations, which were an alternative to the Bolsheviks’ and the Comintern’s plans of reorganisation of social relations in the Balkans.
