Abstract
Outstanding representatives of the Russian comparative historical literature Ilya Golenishchev-Kutuzov (1904-1969) and Nikolai Kravtsov (1906-1980) were famous for their encyclopedic education and made a great contribution to the study of the Serbian folklore, history and literary connections of Slavic literatures. They were translators and popularizers of Slavic culture in Russia. Their life path reflected the dramatic fate of domestic Slavic studies of the twentieth century.
