- Abstract
- Medieval sources that have survived to our day and contain relatively reliable information about St. Stanislaus are not numerous. The Chronicle of Gall Anonymous, the major source on the history of the Polish state in the tenth - early twelfth centuries, was written in Poland, but did not even mention the name of the bishop. The first unfolded history of St. Stanislaus appeared only a century and a half after his death (in the late twelfth century), and thus the question arises of where the authors scoop information for their work arises.
