- Abstract
- The article discusses the issue of the shaping and functioning of ethnic boundaries in culturally mixed villages and towns of Ural-Povolzhie. The author demonstrates that among the signifi cant markers of ethnic boundaries are language, spatial organization, religious-ritual culture, food, clothing, and behavior specifi cities, while the indicator of their stability is the degree of maintenance, usage, and actuality of such markers among the Chuvash and their neighbors
