- Abstract
- The article summarizes some results of the work on the «Catalogue of semantic shifts in the languages of the world» and determines its relationship to synchronic lexical semantics and diachronically oriented semantic typology, from which it originates, as well as to the modern lexical typology which it actually entered. Some specifications are proposed concerning the concepts of semantic shift and types of realization of semantic shift.
