- Abstract
- Though iterativity is linked to the imperfective aspect in Russian, there is one exception where the perfective aspect can be used. This case is mostly treated separately under the title of the so called «summative function of the perfective aspect». Based on data from the Russian national corpus the paper presents a psycholinguistic experiment that will give evidence about the connection between certain adverbial quantifi ers (two times, three times etc.) and the choice of verbal aspect in iterative contexts. The results of the experiment indicate that type and position of the quantifiers can affect not only the choice of the verbal aspect, but also its cognitive processing.
