Abstract

The purpose of this paper is to clarify the current problems which the Japanese Universities, the Japanese High Education as a whole confronts with. The major attention is paid to the situation with the Japanese national and private universities which go thru not only increased international competition brought by globalization, but also by new economical and demographical context.
