- Abstract
- The author analyzes the situation in India connected with the provision of the population with food. The present Public distribution system coverages 75% of the rural and 50% of the urban population. The National Food Security Act 2013, which was initiated by the Indian National Congress (INC), does not solve the problem of poverty and malnutrition. In most states it officially began after the Parliament election 2014 and could not help the INC win.
