Abstract

The ideas by an "anthropologist of science" K. Knorr-Cetina set forth in her book Epistemic Cultures: How the Sciences Make Knowledge are considered. Evolution of her views is quite a representative for the trends of studies of science in the 2nd half of the XX century where problems of "the role of societal factors in the evolution of science" were actively debated. Particularly sociologists of science begin to claim for analysis of the matter of scientific knowledge trespassing the domain of philosophy of science. The latter in turn begins to absorb the concepts of evolution of scientific knowledge and its personality nature.
