- Abstract
- In the article, the phenomenon of existential loneliness is analysed in the perspective of the anthropology of art. Loneliness is considered to be a fundamental state which not only injures the person, but also contributes to his/her personal formation. In the latter, wounding loneliness gives way to a productive solitude. Throughout history variations of the Homo Solus, Man the Lone, theme has been interpreted in art in the special way. The article depicts the different forms in which such an existential experience, with all its semantic and plastic varieties, is modeled in painting, literature, photography.
