Abstract
The report of CoE steering committee on bioethics (CDBI) Working Party on the Protection of the Human Embryo and Fetus Workshop is considered. The report describes the state-of-the-art of discussions on ethical dimensions of human embrio in vitro protection in the perspective of In vitro fertilization, research on embrio (stem cells works included) and pre-natal genetic diagnostics procedures. The attempt is made to reveal in-deep conflicts of values and moral conscience controversies underlying the ethical discussions within the profession.
