Abstract
The evolution in interpretations of human nature in politics is considered. Special attention is focused on the specific features of human interpretation within the Russian version of Modernity. The article argues, that the approaches to a human nature in politics definition, are determined by the goals of authority legitimizing. Historically this interpretation experienced several stages of development connected with different foundations of defining the essence of human nature - God, nature, sense, society, language, subconsciousness. While the different scientific approaches and ideologies of Modernity suggest various and disputable models of "homo politicus", his normative aims and needs, post-modern leads to dehumanization of politics, to manipulating the human being, which is thus deprived of his nature.
