Abstract
Formation of "role" and "mission" concepts in the system of aesthetic I.V. Kireevsky is traced. However, the Russian philosopher did not limit himself with applying those concepts to phenomena of aesthetics only: he extended his aesthetic model to all world around. Every person, every societal phenomenon has the meaning, the role and the mission of its own. Both concepts lead the reader to the idea of synthesis as a base for overcoming imperfections of the world.
