- Abstract
- The article considers masculinity in the framework of biological, psychological and sociological approaches. The author shows that essentialism prevails in the biological and psychological interpretations, and constructivism prevails inthe sociological one. From the point of view of sociology, the plurality of masculinity is recognized. The sociological approach allows us to see the dysfunctionality of the Canon of hegemonic masculinity. The author believes that the concept of masculinity can trace the transition from hegemonic to natural masculinity, and with it the possibility of changing the social structure.
