Abstract
Interdisciplinarity in the modern philosophy of science and polyparadigmality in sociology are considered in the article as a response to the challenge of searching for lost unity in the variety of modern forms of research. The combination of the incongruous – unity in diversity and diversity in unity, which forms the “centaur-problem” of human activity, is proposed to be considered in the mode of the possibility of realizing human freedom and responsibility in culture.
