Abstract
The essay tells about the famous British trade-union figure Arthur Cook, the General Secretary of the Miners' Federation from 1924 to 1931. The Author analyses the evolution of Cook's views, his role in the history of contradictions between the miners and the mine owners, which led to the greatest industrial conflict the General Strike of 1926.
