Abstract
The article examines the main trends in the modern development of nuclear energy, including in Argentina and Brazil - the countries that have achieved the greatest success in this field in Latin America. Special attention is paid to the issues of non-proliferation of nuclear weapons and the position of leading Latin American and global actors on this issue.
