Abstract
The article considers the actual stage of the relationship between the two countries of the Iberian Peninsula - Portugal and Spain. The author singles out the factors that contributed to overcoming alienation and reaching new horizons for the mutually beneficial cooperation. Particular attention is given at the role of senior management in the reestablishment of the Spanish-Portuguese dialogue, the history of the Iberian summits. Moreover are analyzed the state and prospects of development economic relations and bilateral trade.
