- Abstract
- In March 2022, the draft Code of Private International Law of France was published. This project is a huge event not only for France, but also for the entire global legal community. If the Code is adopted, its entry into force will radically change the French Private International Law and will have a serious impact on the further development of codification processes both in other European countries and within the European Union as a whole. The purpose of this article is to familiarize the Russian readers with the history of the codification of French Private International Law, with the general concept and structure of the 2022 draft, focusing on a fundamental innovation in assessing the nature of conflict-of-laws rules.
