Abstract

Variational and improvisational kinds of music were characteristic for both West and East cultures when composing wasn’t separated from performing. In old days inventing function belonged rather to interpreter then to composer but the importance of improvisation played a key role till the middle of the18th century. Than it gradually went down so composer’s and performer’s authorities were entirely separated to the end of the century. However it got a wide and many-sided development in the USA of the 20th century.
