Abstract

The paper analyzes U.S. experience in bioenergy to find out best practices and determinants of this industry's success in the United States. The author studies key trends in manufacturing and use of biofuels and electric power from biomass. Special attention is paid to the role of government subsidies in the industry's development. The paper details key public policies that facilitate innovations in the bioenergy sector.
