- Abstract
- The article characterizes the process of the origin of the Russian State as an instance of self-restriction of the ruling class interests (the Knyazh (prince/duke) of Novgorod Gostomysl and his circle) in the interests of Slavic people which was achieved though conclusion of "row" with the Varangiaт dukes (Ryurik, Sineus, Truvor). The judgment is provided that this process was a quite rare example of paternalism minimization in the Russian feudal state.
