Abstract
the present Article deals with the evolution of the French court practice assessment during several historical periods: from the age of creation of the French Civil Code till today. This article covers points of view of eminent French scholars and public fi gures of these periods as well as opinions of contemporary magistrates of the supreme jurisdictional institution of the country - The Court of Review.
