Abstract
The article examines the directions and trends in the development of both criminal law and criminal procedural law of the Russian Federation in recent decades, analyzes the novelties of the legislation in this field, identifies the directions for the development of the criminal legal policy of the state in the paradigm of humanization and widening the borders of citizens participation in criminal proceeding. It points to the important increased role of the Constitutional Court of the Russian Federation, which has an active influence on the implementation of universal values of constitutionalism in law enforcement practice and the resolution of contradictions, including civilizational ones. The components of the criminal legal policy that need to be improved are identified in the article. The significance for the criminal policy of the issue of legal informing citizens and forming legal awareness is analyzed. The need to improve the range of responsibility for the committed acts and the establishment in this regard of clear criteria for assessing the circumstances of their commission is indicated in the article. The article touches upon the problems of countering cybercrime in the context of globalization, transborderness and the global information society. The issues of the need to work out balanced approaches to regulation under the influence of the increasing dynamics of the development of the information society, the “electronic state”, and the digital economy are considered in the article.
