- Abstract
- the Convention on protection of human rights and fundamental freedoms is one of the main documents of the Council of Europe. Article 6 of the Convention guarantees the right for fair trial, and has fundamental value for functioning of democratic society. The right to a counsel is an integral part of the fair trial. In article the case-law practice of the European Court connected with ensuring the right to counsel has been analyzed and systematized in the context of separate features of participation in the case of the lawyer-defender.
