The article is prepared as the author’s reflection on the newly presented monograph “Economic constitutionalism in Russia: outlines of theory and practice” by Prof. N.S. Bondar, judge of the Constitutional Court of the Russian Federation. Sharing the views expressed by N.S. Bondar, author highlights the basic issues of the legal development of the finance and economy in today’s Russia and that the Constitutional Court is doing to support the legal transformations. Author notes the importance of strengthening of the economic basics of the national sovereignty of Russia in the course of globalization, defining of a balance of public and private interests in the sphere of finance and economy in their connection with the constitutional values, further constitutional development as of the specified legislation in the sphere of finance and economy, as of the practices of its execution. The general conclusion is that the presented monograph makes the significant contribution to the doctrinal and applied jurisprudence of the Russian constitutionalism, and it is undoubtedly useful for a wide audience of the interested readers.
