- Abstract
- A family role in the formation of civil and ethnic identity of teenagers in mono-ethnic and interethnic families of migrants is considered based on the materials of research conducted in 2016–2017 in Saint-Petersburg. The following options of the Russian identity of teenagers from migrant families are proposed: stable-positive, stable-negative, unstable-positive, unstable-negative, indifferent. It is concluded that the formation of a stable positive Russian identity of migrant children is related to the non-contradictory ethnic identity development, the parents’ strategy for integration into Russian society, solidarity model of parenthood, free-range parenting, and child-rearing focused on recognized Russian models. The parents’ stable social status, job availability and stable social and economic status, as well as family cultural resources are very important.
