- Abstract
The Cuban revolution was one of the most significant events in the Latin America of the XX century, which left a deep mark not only in socio-political sphere, but also in various fields of art, in particular, in music. The musical culture of Cuba is known to belong to the number the most striking, peculiar manifestations of African-American identity. Songs and dances are an integral part of everyday life, accompanying Cubans in all circumstances. In this article, we offer to turn to the activities of professional Cuban composers to build a new culture and reflect in their work revolutionary themes with the latest means of musical avantgarde.
