Abstract
The article discusses the nature of the development of Malinche's image in consciousness of Mexicans from XVI to the XXI century in two Indian codes made in the XVI century about events of the Conquest: Lienzo de Tlaxcala, Florentine Codex, and Malinalli's Codex created in the XXI century as addition to the novel "Malinche" of the Mexican writer Laura Esquivel. The author of the article emphasizes aspiration of Mexicans to enrich an image Malinche, because Malinche gives rise to the process of miscegenation, becomes a foremother of Mexican nation and a symbol of the cultural unification.
